NASA STAIR MMX : 1st floor

This spring, BECK came down from Atlanta to work with
me on the NASA stair. Not originally part of the hundred year
old Lincoln Mills, the three story stair well was built to serve
as visitor control for NASA in the 50's and 60's. Six lunar rovers
(moon buggies) were designed and built here at Lincoln Mills.
To honor that I am working with prestigious writers from all
over to create a three story collaborative piece about space.

LOS tha SCHOLA x CHANDLER HAYES : VOIGHT KAMPFF

The first exterior mural at Lincoln Mills was the 'Voight Kampff'
piece. Red Bull artist , urban architect and old friend Los tha
Schola came down from Memphis to collaborate on a mural that
Wayne hoped would both 'challenge perception and remind us of our
common bonds.' Daniel Song came up from Birmingham to assist
and we made a night of it.

WAYNE SISCO'S COURTYARD: HYPE MILLER

When we got in our first shipment of Ironlak Wayne Sisco
asked me to do a piece in his courtyard. Only visible from
his office, the 'Hype Miller' would serve to convey Lincoln's
aggresive, and non-traditional commitment to quality of life
for all of his meetings with investors, collaborators and friends.

BASEMENT INSTALLATIONS: round 1

In the basement of Lincoln Mills are hundreds upon hundreds
of card stock tablets left over from when printers occupied the
third floor. They printed everything from fishing bait blister
packs to private pamphlets and drafts for Red Stone Arsenal.
One of my first assignments here was to convert the mammoth
collection into installations for tours through the project.

WHATEVER YOU ARE BE A GOOD ONE

Lincoln's Gold launched last night here at Lincoln Mills with
an impromptu event co-sponsored by local craft brewery
Straight to Ale. Big thanks to Alan Davis, Aaron Mcdaniel and the Giants
as well as Josh Voight over at Waay 31 for coming out.
