A sneak peek from the weekly Box Car Sessions at Lincoln Mills; each week in the fall Southern Brother pulls out hammocks, and beer at the fire pit for the artists and Musicians of Lincoln Mills.
Art super heroes Asher and Haker came out from Atlanta to help with the second installment of Lincoln Mills' NASA stair project. They were on loan from Southern Brother, our favorite Ironlak collaborators.
The crew here at Lincoln Mills get all of their tools and gear from Lady Di at TSP1. She asked me to do something American for the front wall of TSP1. I opted for the eagle, in the Tsalagi tradition the eagle is a healer that can travel between this world and the spirit world. GO USA!
Dye House Round Two This quote by Abe Lincoln represents the attitude adopted by all the locals and crew here at Lincoln Mills. We're all on the same team in this town and Lincoln's Gold is proud to bring out old wisdom in new colors.
The first of the 2nd floor mural series. I chose to do this piece about our local red fox; Mr Invisible. One night Vinny and I spotted him out by the tracks on a full moon. I checked with our resident Shaman, Robin the next day to discover that the local native tradition defines the Fox spirit by two attributes. The Fox is a family man and a master of camouflage. These traits have been paramount for me and the rest of the locals here at Lincoln Mills. So it seemed that He would be an appropriate guide through the 2nd floor.
Yesterday we opened the Gallery Crashers show at Little Farm. Cayce Hayes played Banjo I painted and Toby Bell with Southern Brother promoted and curated the Art Show inside. The show will be up all week and proceeds go to Little Farm's Thanksgiving fund. Thanks to everyone who came out. Including Josh Voight from WAAY31.
Adjacent to the Dye House, preparations are being made to accommodate Narvell and her gourmet soul food catering kitchen. Wayne had me do this portrait and mural inspired by her legendary catering.
energized to do this piece the next weekend at the Lincoln Workers' Reunion. This piece is in the Dye House which will come to be restaurants, a theatre and event venue. We miss the window crew and look forward to a return to fighting the good fight. This piece is currently being re-worked to speak to that sentiment.
